Heavy rains are predicted for Rajasthan today, according to the weather service, which also noted that the cyclone has now transitioned from the sea to land and is centred around Saurashtra-Kutch.
The India Meteorological Department's most recent weather advisory predicts that it would gradually diminish into a cyclonic storm across Saurashtra and Kutch around noon and then into a deep depression around nightfall.
The relief commissioner said that 22 persons were hurt as well as trees and power poles were uprooted due to the very heavy rains and strong winds.
